My name is Will and I’m a professional Audio & Mix Engineer, Sound Designer, Video Editor & Content Creator - as well as a proud member of the YouTube partner program.
I am the post-production supervisor for Rhynestone Productions, currently working on a feature-length horror film where I am responsible for dialog cleanup, foley effects, sound design & audio mixing.
Since acquiring my bachelors degree in Music Production, I have had the opportunity to work in a diverse range of creative disciplines. I have worked for various businesses, writing content, creating and editing videos, creating graphics for websites or social media, recording voiceovers. It's been such a great way to accumulate a wide range of skills and to work with loads of different people. Most recently, I was hired as the Post-Production Supervisor for Rhynestone Productions where I am responsible for all post-production needs for musicians, filmmakers and the podcast.
I also enjoy the freelance work I do alongside my employment - I'm not afraid of long days and I've never needed much sleep! This tends to be hyper-focused on my expertise in audio production and mixing. I also run an admittedly niche, but now-monetised YouTube channel which has become a treasured creative outlet for me, where I can combine my experience in video making, audio engineering and storytelling alongside my ultimate passion which is writing and recording music. I have created viral content for TikTok too and alongside YouTube, have had over a million views on videos I have made.
Between my own creations, and projects I've worked on, I've not only had the time of my life doing what I love to do, but I've reached audiences beyond what I could have imagined, including radio stations across the world, and even the "Thrills, Chills & Kills" event at the GSW Fine Arts Theatre and Anthology Film Festival in Atlanta, Georgia, amongst others.
In my current employment, I create blogs, video tutorials, and promotional content for a software company. I am used to deadlines and work fast, but do relish the chance to experiment and get creative.
In the corporate world, I do not like the "corporate memphis" direction that seems to have consumed every business. It feels like everyone does it because "it looks corporate", but it's starting to grate on people.
I just create. I adore it.
I feel at home when creating things. I can't go more than a couple of days without feeling uneasy at having not created something! This started young, drawing and painting, building anything I could think of with bits of old cardboard and Papier-mâché - from fortresses to "life-size" Pokémon.
Later I discovered music but the common thread was the VALUE of art and creation. It's unique to us and it is a pure expression of how we experience our time on earth. I struggle with things like generative AI and 'corporate memphis' graphic design because they fly in the face of everything I believe art to be. I don't believe it needs to be perfect, but it needs to be real. It needs to come from a human soul.
I fundamentally believe that art should be as authentic and human as possible.
